HBN Trees is a passionate and outstanding arboricultural and tree planting company based in Ashwell, Hertfordshire. Our mission is to care for trees for the next generation.
HBN Trees is owned and run by Ewan Habben, who brings 15 years of experience in the arboricultural industry. His expertise spans domestic tree surgery, forestry, and electrical power line clearance. Ewan trained at Capel Manor College, completing Level 2 and Level 3 Diplomas in Trees and Timber, along with various City and Guilds qualifications. He was awarded Apprentice of the Year and later became a freelance tree climber, working with numerous arboricultural companies across three counties, gaining invaluable experience in tree climbing and aerial cutting operations.
Ewan’s passion for planting trees began at the age of 16 with his first employer, who taught him the best techniques for ensuring young trees thrive. His passion was further sparked when he completed a planting contract in Central London as a teenager. Over 10 years later, Ewan received a grant from the Forestry Commission to train in Woodland Creation & Planting through Lantra Awards. Today, Ewan is dedicated to planting as many trees as possible, from large woodlands to back garden projects.

We understand the importance of trees in our environment and work tirelessly to preserve them. Our goal is to ensure that future generations benefit from the trees we care for today. Our team is carefully selected, and every member brings a great attitude and exceptional expertise to every project.
